The Executive Vice Chairman/CEO of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), Mr. Khalil Suleiman Halilu, has emphasized the need for procurement officers to attain high levels of professional proficiency and technical expertise.
Halilu says this is crucial to meet the agency’s goals and overall mandate.
At the 2024 three-day in-house training for NASENI’s procurement officers in Abuja, Halilu highlighted the importance of delivering quality services aligned with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. The training aims to equip officers with the necessary skills to manage procurement processes effectively, ensuring full compliance with the Public Procurement Act of 2007.
Halilu stressed the need for continuous training and urged participants to apply the knowledge gained to improve their roles. He reiterated NASENI’s commitment to upholding the Act and ensuring officers remain aligned with the agency’s mission.
In his keynote, Barr. Olusegun Omotola, representing the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP), highlighted NASENI’s key role in national infrastructure development. He called for transparency, accountability, and adherence to government procurement standards. Omotola emphasized that careful execution of procurement processes is essential to achieving value for money and efficient budget implementation.
