A 19-year-old man, Abba Yusuf, has allegedly stabbed his father, 60-year-old Alhaji Dahiru Yusuf Maileather, to de@th in Lokoja, Kogi State.
The incident took place at the Sarkin-Noma quarters over the weekend at around 8:30 p.m.
Alhaji Nuhu Muhammed Bala, the elder brother of the deceased, recounted the shocking event to the press.
He revealed that he received a distressing call from his sister, informing him that their brother had been killed by his own son.
Bala rushed to the scene, only to learn that his brother had already been taken to the hospital.
The suspect, Abba Yusuf, has been arrested and handed over to the police for further investigation.
Bala also disclosed that the mother of the suspect, along with her other two children, has fled following the incident.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
