Meta has introduced its new Content Monetization beta program for Facebook, aiming to enhance the earning potential of content creators.
Launched on Wednesday, October 2, the initiative combines three key monetization tools: In-stream ads, Ads on Reels, and the Performance Bonus, enabling creators to earn from a wider variety of content types, including Reels, long-form videos, photos, and text posts.
This new program simplifies Facebook’s existing monetization systems, providing a unified approach for creators to generate income across multiple formats.
Previously, only about one-third of creators earned from more than one Facebook-funded program due to differing eligibility and availability criteria.
Since 2017, over four million creators have earned money on the platform, with Facebook paying out more than $2 billion in the past year alone.
Meta acknowledged that the previous systems limited earning opportunities for many creators but expects the new program to remove these barriers.
With earnings from Reels and short-form videos increasing by over 80% in the last year, this streamlined beta program offers unified performance insights and a performance-based payout structure.
Invitations have already been sent to one million creators, with broader enrollment expected in 2025.
Creators interested in early access can sign up through the Professional dashboard or Meta Business Suite.
