A 35-year-old zookeeper has been mauled to death by a lion at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library Zoo in Ogun State, Nigeria.
The attack reportedly took place after the handler failed to properly secure the locks on the lion’s enclosure.
The incident happened when the handler entered the enclosure to feed the lion. According to reports, the lion escaped and attacked the zookeeper, causing fatal injuries to his neck.
Despite efforts to prevent further mutilation, the zookeeper died on the spot due to the severe injuries sustained.
