Organisers of the #EndBadGovernance movement have officially requested police protection ahead of their planned nationwide protest on October 1, 2024.
In a letter addressed to security agencies, the group outlined their intention to stage peaceful demonstrations against “anti-poor policies” and governmental failures.
They have declared October 1 as a “National Day of Survival,” calling for nationwide participation.
The organisers have emphasized the need for adequate security measures to safeguard participants, highlighting concerns over potential threats to public safety during the protest.
In response, the Lagos State Police Command has reportedly summoned the organisers for a stakeholders’ meeting to discuss the protest’s logistics and security arrangements .
The demonstration is expected to draw significant public attention, with the movement continuing the momentum built from earlier activism aimed at holding government officials accountable.
