A local priest, identified as Niyi Peter, in Osun State has publicly apologized to the family of an altar boy after hitting him on the head during a wedding ceremony.
The video was posted on social media and it went viral, attracting loads of comments, some of them negative.
The priest has now sought out the family of the boy to express his deep remorse at his action.
He said “Accidentally, I knocked him on the head,” acknowledging the unintended nature of the incident.
The family of the altar boy, however, was quick to defend the priest, reassuring him that he had done nothing wrong and emphasizing that accidents can happen to anyone.
The community has responded positively, with many members commending both the priest’s humility in apologizing and the family’s understanding reaction.
