The Federal Government of Nigeria has suspended two senior officers of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) over allegations of misconduct involving Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky.

The suspended officers, including the Deputy Controller of Corrections at the Medium Security Custodial Centre (MSCC), Kirikiri, were implicated in a bribery scandal.

The incident reportedly occurred after an audio recording surfaced online, allegedly revealing the officers’ involvement in improper activities with the handling of Bobrisky’s jail term.

The suspension was announced following investigations into the accusations, with the government taking swift action to uphold integrity within the NCoS.

This case has sparked widespread discussions on corruption and misconduct in the Nigerian prison system.

Further details about the ongoing investigation have not been disclosed, but the officers remain suspended pending the outcome of the inquiry.
