Some online analysts are blaming former two-time world heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua, for getting knocked out by Daniel Dubois in London on Saturday night.
The two British boxers fought for the IBF heavyweight title in front of 96,000 fans at Wembley Stadium on Saturday night, September 21, 2024.
Daniel Dubois went into the fight as an underdog but produced a sensational performance as he dominated AJ.
He knocked down Joshua in the opening round with a strong right hand to the chin.
At the end of the third round, Joshua was saved by the bell after Dubois stunned him and forced a knockdown with a huge left hook.
In the fourth round, Joshua lost his balance with a left hook from Dubois. He was consistently hit by Dubois’ left hook but managed to stay in control of the contest.
In the fifth round, Joshua got caught with a right hook from Dubois that knocked him out of the fight.
Some online boxing analysts are saying that Joshua underrated his opponent and carried on with proud confidence believing he would subdue Dubois.
They also accused AJ of sticking out his tongue during the bout in a move that the analysts are saying was meant to disparage Dubois or undermine the success he was recording in the ring.
One of the analysts, Tony, a Briton shared a video and wrote: “Oleksandr Usyk told Daniel Dubois that he could dream & be a World Champion.
Daniel Dubois is now a World Champion. He beat Anthony Joshua by a brutal knockout.
I’ve lost count of the knockdowns. You do not disrespect your opponent like Joshua did because this is what happens.”
When one of his followers disputed his claim of AJ disrespecting his opponent, he attached a photo and video of AJ appearing unbothered and sticking out his tongue during his encounter with Dubois.
He wrote:
“This.👇
Anthony Joshua disrespecting Daniel Dubois.
You do not do that. You do not disrespect your opponent in a boxing match or any fight for that matter.”
Some of his followers agreed with him, while others disagreed still, arguing that AJ’s action was not uncommon in boxing.
