A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe, has continued to bemoan Nigeria’s high electricity tariff.

Over the weekend, Mr Igbokwe wrote an open letter to President Tinubu lamenting about the high electricity tariffs. He warned that if the situation was not looked into, it would lead to the ‘death’ of many businesses.

In fresh posts shared on his Facebook page, Igbokwe, a staunch APC supporter, warned that if electricity-providing companies continue will their high tariffs, Nigerians would be forced to bypass them. He also stated that due to the high tariff, members of his household had resolved to always turn off their electrical appliances, with some using solar to power their homes.

His posts:

“Every successful businessman or woman knows that if you lower the prices of your goods you are likely to get more customers and sell more goods. Blockheads in the power companies have allowed their greed to overtake them.”

“We have devised a way to beat Power Companies outrageous and crazy bills by switching off the ACs, put off some light bulbs, going Solar, switching off heaters, putting off the fridges and Deep freezers at intervals etc. We have to survive this time.”
