Army hands over suspected serial k!ller who abducted, k1lled FUNAAB student to Lagos police
The Nigerian Army has handed over 23-year-old murd3r suspect, Adeleye Ayomide, who is accused of k1lling a 300-level student of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, (FUNAAB) Ogun State, Idowu Christiana, to the Lagos Police Command.
The spokesperson of the command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the development in a brief statement posted on his X handle on Thursday.
“23-year-old Ayomide Adeleye has been handed over to #LagosPoliceNG by 9 Brigade #HQNigerianArmy. The handover took place today, September 5, 2024, at about 1400hrs. Investigation is ongoing,” the PPRO wrote.
The spokesperson of the 81 Division Nigerian Army, Lt-Col. Olabisi Ayeni, earlier confirmed Ayomide’s arrest.
“Yes. I am aware of the issue. We arrested him and the 9 Brigade Nigerian Army will be handing him over to the Lagos State Police Command today, so you can liaise with them for further information,” Ayeni stated.
Christianah was abducted along the Ikorodu-Yaba Road, Lagos State, on Monday, August 19, 2024.
The suspect, said to be a student of the Olabisi Onabanjo University, allegedly kidnapped and k!lled Christiana after collecting N350,000 ransom from her family.
He was alleged to have k1ll3d his blood sister and girlfriend in the past.
