A man has k!lled his own son in a fit of anger after the boy misplaced his sewing thread.
The police in Lagos State said the man who lived in the Epe area of the state had on August 5 given a sewing thread to the son and when he asked for it, the boy had misplaced it.
The father was said to have been enraged and splashed the son with petrol.
After the boy’s body absorbed the petrol, he started vomiting white substances.
Sensing trouble, the father reportedly administered palm oil that is widely believed to have countering effect on poisonous substances.
This, however, did not work as the boy reportedly lost consciousness and was rushed to a nearby hospital where the doctor on duty told them the boy was dead.
Lagos Police Command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said an autopsy would be carried out on the remains of the deceased while the suspect would be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Yaba for further investigation.
