Some commuters narrowly missed de@th on Thursday on Kara Bridge along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway when they were involved in a multiple-vehicle collision.
The accident, which involved two heavy-duty trucks, occurred about 6.45 p.m. Also involved in the collision were a Lexus SUV and two commercial buses.
The cause of the accident is not known, but eyewitnesses claimed the vehicles were on top speed when the accident happened.
There was no de@th, but many of the commuters sustained injuries and some of them were rushed to the hospital.
The accident caused severe traffic gridlock, as it took some time before the vehicles could be moved out of the way for other road users.
