Some restless youths in Britain have gone on a rampage targeting immigrants and hotels used for accommodating asylum seekers.
The unrest which started on Saturday, continued on Sunday, as aggressors vandalise and set fire to some hotels used to house asylum seekers.
Places where hotels were set on fire included Rotherham and Tamworth.
In Bolton, British youths stormed immigrant-populated communities but were kept from engaging with immigrant and Muslim youths by riot police.
In Middlesbrough, restless youths targeted the homes of migrants, shouting ‘smash the p*gs’.
In a clip circulating online, one of the restless youths fell into the hands of the Muslim immigrants who descended on him with sticks.
The Saturday’s widespread disorder across the country, moved quickly through Belfast, Liverpool, Nottingham, Stoke and Hull.
The proactive deployment of police saved the South Yorkshire town of Rotherham from witnessing bloodshed.
The youths, however, monetarily forgot about their primary targets and turned on the police. Many youths wearing masks and hoods and carrying England or Union flags, began pelting the police with stones and other missiles.
Over 200 others descended on the town’s Holiday Inn Express hotel which was at a point, used to house asylum seekers.
They outnumbered the police and hurled planks of wood and rocks at the law enforcement officers.
In the process, one policeman was injured and was carried away to safety by his colleagues. There is no information on his health status.
Some of the youths smashed the hotel’s windows and entered the inside to wreak more havoc.
Many of the rioters chanted: “We want our country back’ as hotel staff and residents cowered behind their locked room doors.
The rioters thereafter tried to set the hotel on fire, torching bins and then using the burning bins to block the exits.
The police stepped in to remove the burning debris.
Some of the asylum seekers in the Holiday Inn Express in Rotherham said they ran away from war zones and other hostile countries to the UK which they thought was safe, but were now facing unexpected violence.
The hotel is believed to have several asylum seekers including, Afghans, Kurds and Iranians.
