Street singer, Habeeb Olalomi, better known as Portable has 100,000 followers on Instagram within hours of making deprecating comments about the ongoing EndBadGovernance protest in Nigeria.
Portable, in a viral video, claimed there were no protests in Sango, Ogun State where he lived.
The singer reasoned that past protests did not yield anything positive as a result of which he and those living in his area had concluded not to take part in any protests but concentrate on their individual hustles.
Apparently, his comments hit raw nerves on his followers who took prompt action. Within 12 hours of posting the video, he has been unfollowed by 100,000 fans on Instagram.
The singer had been warned by his followers to desist from making derogatory remarks about the protest and protesters. But he has paid scant regard to them, forcing some of the fans to make good their threat.
In one video, Portable compared himself to billionaire Aliko Dangote and described the protests as activities for the poor.
