Man who took part in lynching Ghana musician in his married lover’s house allegedly commits suicide
A man who allegedly took part in the lynching of Nana Yaw, a rising musician who was mistaken for an armed robber in his married lover’s house, has allegedly taken his own life.
It would be recalled that Nana Yaw, a promising musician, was recently beaten to death after he was dubbed a robber by a member of the compound where his lover lived.
Yaw travelled from his base in Accra to Kumasi to spend some days with his lover, Nana Yaa, who unknown to him was married to a man resident abroad.
Nana Yaa lived in a compound where her inlaws were also resident.
When Nana Yaw stepped out at night on a fateful night, he was accosted by a compound resident who accused him of being a robber.
He reportedly told him he was a guest of Nana Yaa, but the man raised an alarm summoning other members of the compound, who then called Nana Yaa to corroborate the musician’s claim.
She reportedly denied knowing him to protect her marriage. The musician was subsequently beaten to death.
One of those who took part in the beating is now said to have taken his own life after he had been weighed down for days with guilt after the tragic incident.
According to a resident in Tanoso where the tragic incident happened, the man was heartbroken that he took part in k!lling an innocent man based on the lie told by Nana Yaa.
It was gathered that Nana Yaa is still in police custody as she was denied bail at her second court appearance.
