Young Nigerians demanding an end to bad governance have stormed Ojota for a second day of protest.
The protest with the hashtag “EndBadGovernance” commenced yesterday, August 1 and has now entered the second day.
Many young Nigerians arrived at Ojota this morning to meet a contingent of battle-ready policemen.
They were not deterred, as they continued to increase in number as of the time of filing this report.
At some point when the policemen came too close, one of the protesters using a megaphone addressed them, advising them to see the protesters as fighting for the common good.
He told them their own welfare is at stake if Nigeria continued to slide as it was doing. He therefore advised them not to vent their anger on protesters but on those inflicting pain on Nigerians.
The policemen subsequently turned their backs and retreated by some meters.
This gladdened the hearts of the protesters who shouted “God bless you!” repeatedly as the policemen retreated.
