Comedian Sir Balo has reportedly been duped of N60 million by a fraudster who posed as the owner of a beautiful short-let apartment in Abuja.
Social media activist, VeryDarkMan (VDM) said Sir Balo contacted him to help him track the fraudster who collected money from him for a plot of land in Abuja.
According to the information Sir Balo reportedly gave to VDM, the fraudster presented himself as an affluent person who wanted to sell a plot of land.
The fraudster reportedly asked Balo to come into his apartment to make the payment so they could have assurance that he could not run anywhere.
Upon getting there, Sir Balo and his friends reportedly saw family pictures hanging on the walls to present a façade of a responsible family man.
Sir Balo reportedly made the payment and decided to move to site to do a few things only to be confronted by the real owner of the land.
By the time the victim went to the house of the fraudster, they found that he had parked out. It was also discovered that it was an AirBnB house.
Sir Balo’s efforts to apprehend the fraudster had been elusive, prompting him to contact VDM who used his contact with the police to track down the fraudster.
He reportedly admitted collecting the money from Sir Balo and offered to give another land to him in Gwagwalada, an offer VDM said was not acceptable.
