Ghanaian star, Shatta Wale speaks over allegation of abandoning his aged mother (Video)
Famous Ghanaian star, Shatta Wale has defended himself against the allegation of abandoning his aged and ailing mother, Elsie Evelyn Avemegah.
It would be recalled that Elsie Evelyn Avemegah recently put out a video to complain that she had been neglected for 10 years by her son, Shatta Wale.
Before this most recent outcry, the woman was in the news in 2022 also, when after she was evicted from her home.
Now, the 70-year-old woman in a fresh video complained about her deteriorating health, which includes hypertension, without any support from her son.
She said Shatta Wale had no idea where she lived in the last 10 years.
Elsie, who disclosed that she is currently in the care of her sister and niece, Sharita Aheteku, following her health challenge, appealed to the public for financial help.
“My name is Elsie Evelyn Avemegah. I am the biological mother of Shatta Wale. I haven’t spoken with my son for about 10 or more years now. He doesn’t know where I live and what I eat but now my health is dropping and I’m seriously ill.”
In a video that appears to be a response to his mother’s outcry, Shatta Wale said he had done well for his mother.
He claimed to have bought four cars and houses for his mother. In the same breath, he complained that he had been through a lot to get to where he was.
He complained that he slept outside for many years and did not know his family house.
In another video he spoke glowingly about his step-mum, as someone he was closer to. He said the step mum cared for his children and was there for him, yet could not be found on radio or TV granting interviews about him.
He lamented that the step mum was late.
