A trending video has shown the moment the Niger State Governor Mohammed Bago instructed his security aides to slap and arrest an Islamic cleric.
The video shows Bago holding the microphone while addressing the people at the event.
He spoke Hausa for the most parts, but at a point, he pointed in a direction off the camera frame and gave the instruction: ‘Slap him’ and the sound of a slap can be heard.
Mohammed Bago was not satisfied, he orders the aide to slap the Islamic cleric again and another sound of a slap was heard.
Then he ordered the security detail to arrest the assaulted man. The security detail immedaiately grabbed the arm of the man who was kneeling down and led him away.
