Activist, Harrison Gwamnishu, knocks force PRO over claims suspect was not tortured to death
Human rights activist, Harrison Gwamnishu, has taken to social media to knock police force PRO, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, after he claimed that a 33-year-old suspect, Erasmus Emeya, died of asphyxiation and was not tortured to death.
Adejobi had said late Erasmus Emeya was arrested for cultism and rape. He said an autopsy was carried out on the deceased and it was discovered he died of asphyxiation and not torture. Adejobi said the autopsy was done in the presence of the doctor(s) of the deceased family.
Reacting to Adejobi’s post, Harrison said the police PRO is too decent and well-educated to be rushing to the media without getting all the facts.
He wondered how the suspect died of Asphyxiation. He asked Adejobi how he could tag the deceased a cultist and rapist when a court is yet to convict him.
He wrote:
“Sir, with due respect @adejobimuyiwa “Why do you Police Image Makers always report what you were told without investigation? How can a suspect die of asphyxiation? That’s suffocation. Did you visit the scene so they show you where he died of asphyxiation? Autopsy result is what you are coming to quote and also boldly tagging the young man a cultist who has not been convicted and can’t even defend himself now.
DO YOU KNOW WHAT IS SACK K!LLING? OR I SHOULD EXPLAIN MORE?
Did you make findings about his accusers? Did you visit the community where he was said to have killed and rape people?
SOME OF US HAS SPENT YEARS IN SOLITARY CELLS AND NEVER DID WE DIE OF SUFFOCATION.
What kind of cell was the young man locked up? Does it mean the mother is lying with what she saw?
@adejobimuyiwa you are too decent and well educated to be rushing to the media without getting all the facts. PLEASE GET A TEAM OF PRIVATE INVESTIGATORS to assist the Force in unravelling the true situation of things before updating the media.”
