Our white neighbours smile with us but reported us to police for child abandonment –UK-based Nigerian (Video)
A Nigerian man based in the United Kingdom has narrated how their otherwise friendly neighbours falsely reported them to the police for child abandonment recently.
The Nigerian man known as Agbasol on TikTok said two police officers banged on their door and window to get their attention and started asking them questions about their children.
He said they asked if they left their children at home unattended because they received a report that when he took his wife to work, they left their kids alone at home.
Agbasol said this was false because two grown-up younger family members lived with them, meaning that the kids could not have been alone at any point.
He also said he told them he had CCTV cameras installed around the house and invited them to review the footage.
He said the male officer was easily convinced, but it took a bit longer to convince the female officer that he was telling the truth even without reviewing the CCTV footage.
He lamented that he suspected his direct next-door neighbour was responsible for the false report. He said the man recently installed a camera in his garden to monitor and eavesdrop on them.
He said they would greet him nicely every morning and would be all smiles, yet they reported him to the police without bothering to ask him any questions.
He said his saving grace was that he had cameras installed all over the house and the police themselves knew this as they had visited him before to request their CCTV footage to help resolve a murder case that happened in their neighbourhood.
