A man, Joshua Temiofe Uzu, has called on Nigerians to help his sister who is allegedly being severely abused by her husband of 15 years.
The man alleged that his sister’s husband broke her head with a pestle on Wednesday, July 3.
He shared photos showing his sister, a mother-of-five bleeding heavily from the head.
He added that his sister began suffering abuse from her husband within the first month of their marriage but his family has been managing it because of their “conservative background”.
His tweets:
“In 2009, my sister Annabel Uzu, married Christopher Onyemali, a lawyer based in Asaba. Within a month of their wedding, he started beating her. Over the years, the beatings became more violent with each case resolved internally due to our conservative background.
Today, my sister placed a video call on our family’s WhatsApp Group, and she was bleeding profusely and crying. Her husband had hit her head with a pestle in front of their daughter (one of 5 kids)
To say that I am livid is putting it mildly. My other siblings and I are currently outside Nigeria and my parents, who are around, are too old to handle this. Please, Nigerian youths I need your help to bring this man to justice.
Please if you have any contact in the Ministry of Woman Affairs that can help or with the Nigerian Police, please help!”
