A four-storey building attached to the Westbrook Hotel, Garki, Abuja, collapsed on Monday night, July 1.
Many people were believed to be trapped in the rubble.
Eyewitnesses claim some trapped persons were pulled out from the debris and taken to the hospital.
An X user, Nnamdi Onu posted a video of the immediate aftermath of the incident. He wrote on x:
“Oh my. This report of Westbrook hotel hotel in Garki Abuja collapsing is disturbing. How can a four storey building collapse all of a sudden? Proper approvals should always be given by the right bodies before any construction of such takes place. Now people’s lives are at risk.…”
