The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has directed that the two officials of the commission who allegedly assaulted a lady at the Regional Hotel in Ojo, Lagos during a raid should be arrested.

A video of the raid shows the EFCC officials, dressed in plain clothes, breaking a door into a room where a woman is in her nightgown.

One of the officers proceeds to slap the woman believed to be an employee of the hotel repeatedly before ordering her out of the room. This incident was recorded on Closed Circuit Television (CCTV).

In his statement, an EFCC spokesperson said the incident occurred during an early morning sting operation. He mentioned that the operation resulted in the arrest of several suspects who are currently being profiled.

He said:

“The EFCC’s boss has also ordered detailed investigations of the operation carried out at the hotel and assured that appropriate disciplinary measures would be taken against any of the officers found to be culpable.”
