A member of the red chamber, Senator Ali Ndume has asserted that corruption that Nigerian politicians indulge in is ‘people-oriented’.
According to him, the corruption Nigerian politicians indulge in is better than most other types, because when politicians steal, they share with the people or else, they will not be voted back in the next term.
He spoke on a Channels Television programme, a clip of which is currently trending.
“Nigerian politicians’ kind of corruption is people-driven. We steal and share with the people”, he said.
He, however, agreed to the suggestion that a death penalty could be introduced to check corruption, but he emphasized that it must be for huge sums, such as one trillion naira theft.
