“I didn’t know I would become famous at the time” TV girl, Serwaa, apologises over leaked bedroom video

Ghanaian media personality, Serwaa Amihere, has finally spoken up on the viral video of herself in bed with a businessman named, Henry Fitz.

The video which set social media on fire for days shows the very popular TV girl lying n@ked in bed, covered to the waist in a bedspread, with Fitz who equally appears to be naked, kissing many parts of her body as she smiles in enthralment.

It was initially speculated that the video was taken after Serwaa had served as a compere at the lavish wedding reception of Fitz.

This added to the scandalous nature of the incident as many accused Serwaa of sleeping with a man she played an active role in his wedding ceremony.

However, in a statement shared on her X account on the evening of Wednesday, April 24, 2024, Serwaa clarified that the clip was recorded five years ago before Fitz got married.

She suggested that the video was done when she was in a romantic relationship with Henry Fitz who was then a bachelor.

Serwaa expressed regrets that she did the recording at the time, stating that she underestimated her potential to become famous later in life.

She stated, “I considerably underestimated the extent of my influence, my potential, what I would become, and what I would come to represent to this society.”

According to her, the video surfaced “after five months of threats and extortion, along with efforts by the police to bring the extortionists to book.”

Despite the ordeal, Serwaa mentioned that she has learned valuable lessons from the unfortunate episode. “In all, I have learned deeply useful lessons for the future,” she noted.

She apologized for the embarrassment the incident has caused her family, employers, loved ones, and the businesses and brands she represents.
