The girl captured in the heartbreaking video of school bullying of a student of Lead British International School has been confronted by the relatives of the victim.
The bully, identified as Maryam Hassan was brought to the school premises following the furore generated by the viral video.
Once in the school premises, the relatives of the victim, Namtira Bwala, confronted the girl who was in hijab and questioned her about the maltreatment she gave their daughter.
A lady believed to be Namtira’s aunt got agitated as she questioned tongue-tied Maryam about why she assaulted Namtira.
When Maryam was not forthcoming with any answer, she delivered a slap to her cheek before the others restrained her from further assaulting the girl.
Microsecondnews earlier reported that the school announced it had commenced an investigation into the incident.
Meanwhile the school has been shut down for three days following the sad incident.
This was announced at a press briefing attended by parents in the school premises on Tuesday.
The Federal Capital Territory Administration confirmed the shutdown of the schoo situated in Gwarimpa, Abuja.
FCTA said the closure followed a visit by the Minister for Women Affairs, Uju Kenedy-Ohanenye, on Tuesday.
The school will remain closed for three days.
