A Ghanaian politician, Mike Qquaye Jnr, is trending after he was filmed assisting a female potential voter to do her washing during a campaign stop in his constituency.
Mike Oquaye Jnr, who is vying for a seat in Parliament for Dome Kwabenya, was doing door-to-door mobilization in his constituency when his entourage came across a woman doing her laundry in front of her house.
The politician walked up to her and decided to help her with her washing as he talked to her, attracting a loud cheer from his aides and other members of his entourage.
The politician took a small piece of black cloth that looked like a pair of undies and diligently washed it, holding it up a couple of times to be sure it was clean.
The video has sparked conversations around politicians’ deceit and their penchant for doing anything to fool the electorates before an election only to abandon them as soon as they get elected.
