Residents of the Moss Side, Manchester community where British-Nigerian boy, Prince Walker-Ayeni was killed in London, United Kingdom, are full of kind words for the teenager who was fatally knifed on Thursday by yet-to-be-identified assailants.

Recall that 17-year-old Prince Walker-Ayeni was only a few metres from home when he was stabbed and left to die by his assailants.

An eye-witness said the teenager tussled with a group of boys before he collapsed on the pavement after he was stabbed. The boys fled and have yet to be identified or arrested.

The teenager, who was only days away from clocking 18 was then rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries before his death was announced.

Friends, his family, and neighbours shared fond memories of the youngster, with many of them saying kind things about him.

A man who lives in Raby Street where the crime took place said his son was also in Prince’s class at school.

“He’s like my son,” he said. “Always when I see him he’s smiling. Beautiful boy. I’ll never forget it. All night I couldn’t sleep. It’s a sad day,” he told Manchester Evening News.

Prince’s uncle Kemoy Walker, who is a Moss Side ambassador for Manchester City Council, posted on X (Twitter): “We lost my nephew to knife crime this week, our family is heartbroken. Every compliment about my nephew has been, he’s a polite young man, I will miss him so much…we had a great tribute yesterday! Prince Walker-Ayeni – thanking everyone for their support! What is life?”
