Restaurant owner’s breakup revenge sign goes viral in Australia

A Melbourne restaurant owner has put up a signpost that has gone viral because of its cheeky content.

The sign in front of the soon-to-be-opened venue in Caroline Springs, Australia reads: ‘Hey Sophia, you broke up with me because I was poor. Now I have the money to open a Korean BBQ. Are you regretting it now?’

The message has left many wondering about the backstory behind the sign and the identity of the mysterious Sophia.

Daily Mail Australia went in search of the owner of the restaurant, but he is said to be currently overseas.

Others think it’s a clever marketing ploy to promote the opening of the restaurant.

This has not stopped people from siding with the said Sophia or the jilted lover boy.

Many said Sophia dodged a bullet with the level of pettiness the lover boy indulged in to put up a revenge sign post.

melba11 in Melbourne, Australia wrote: “Guessing it was more than the finances that she ran from.”

magikMike: “I wonder what the next sign will read in six months when he closes?

StubbornKenny from Sydney, Australia answered that question: “I have used all the stray dogs I could find.”

PollyClementine from Mornington, Australia: “Sophia has no regrets

Drropata, from Guatemala: “Great advertisement! cos, that’s what it is.”

Steffo: “My bet is, there is no Sophia & no break up. it’s purely a PR stunt.”

StubbornKenny from Sydney, Australia: “No, she broke up with you because you are a fool, as putting up this sign clearly demonstrates.”
