A man has alleged that he and the others did not get prior notice before a demolition squad invaded their estate in Ajah and brought down their houses.

The man took to X to show the ongoing demolition, alleging that he only a few minutes notice to salvage a few movable assets.

According to him the demolition happened in Sangotedo Hopevill Estate, Ajah.

He tweeted: “Without Any Warning Or Notice. People’s Properties Are (being) Destroyed Along With Their Houses. These Houses Were Not Even Built On a Canal Or Obstructing Anything.”

Meanwhile, the demolition continues today, March 11 as the Lagos state government destroyed illegal structures and shanties built around Jakande Estate, and Maiyegun, Lekki.

The state Commissioner of Works and Water Resources, Tokunboh Wahab, disclosed this on social media.

He stated that the enforcement is geared towards reclaiming the coastal road alignment for the Lagos – Calabar Highway project of the Federal Government, and the urban regeneration of the area.
