A motorist has been run over by a speeding truck at Arepo Bus Stop on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
According to an eyewitness the incident happened on the Lagos-bound lane of the busy expressway by Arepo bus stop about 6:10 am.
The victim of the tragic incident drove a Toyota Sienna to the bus stop and parked beside the kerb to drop some passengers.
When the passengers were struggling with the door and could not open it from inside, the victim alighted from the driver’s seat and went round to open the door for his passengers.
It was when he was going back to his seat that the accident happened.
He had reportedly successfully opened the car door but had not entered the car when a speeding truck side-wiped his car, clearing him and the car door in the process.
The speeding truck did not stop, as the victim was flung in the air before landing on the floor.
Sympathisers quickly rushed to carry him out of the road before another vehicle ran over him, but it did not appear he made it.
The motionless body of the victim was laid on the road pavement while his car lights remained turned on while the engine continued to run.
