A lady has alleged that a group of armed policemen collected the sum of N500,000 from her to let her go in Mile 2, Amuwo Odofin area of Lagos, Nigeria.
According to a video she posted online, she was in a cab when the policemen stopped the car and searched the vehicle including her bag.
She claimed that they saw a post-pill (used for preventing pregnancy) and they accused her of being a prostitute.
She claimed she denied the accusation and told them she had not used the bag for a long while.
She said the men ordered her to enter their van and threatened to call her parents. According to her, the policemen claimed that they typically called the parents of wayward ladies like her.
She further claimed they ordered her to enter their van where they threatened to throw her into a cell with criminals.
She said tearfully that they ended up emptying up her bank account, taking out the sum of N500,000 before they set her free.
