A show promoter, Olawale B of Fathia Entertainment, has disclosed that popular Nollywood actor, Quadri Oyebanji, popularly known as Sisi Quadri, died after the United States of America (USA), granted him a visa.

Sisi Quadri died on Friday at the age of 44.

His death was revealed by some of his colleagues in the Yoruba movie industry.

Writing on her verified Instagram handle, actress Abiola Bayo said: “You will be greatly missed, Sisi Quadri. May your soul rest in perfect peace”.

Sisi Quadri was renowned for his sharp tongue and quick wit which made him a perfect fit for adlib conversations involving verbal abuses and curses.

He sometimes adopted the mien, posture and mannerisms of a lady for comedic effect while plying his trade. This made the stage name “Sisi Quadri” to stick on him. ‘Sisi’ is a colloquial word for a young lady in Yoruba.

His demise was also confirmed by the Theatre Arts And Motion Pictures Practitioners Association Of Nigeria (TAMPAN).

TAMPAN National President, Bolaji Amusan, popularly known as Mr Latin, confirmed Sisi Quadri’s death in an Instagram post.

Mr Latin wrote: “Hmmmmm! May God grant him eternal rest.”
