NSCDC arrests two men who kidnapped, r@ped, k!lled commercial sex worker in Ekiti
Officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ekiti State Command, have arrested two suspects over the abduction and killing of a commercial sex worker in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.
The NSCDC state commandant, Sunday Agboola, who disclosed this at the weekend, said that the suspects identified as Saviour and David, conspired and picked the deceased Comfort James from a brothel on February 6, 2024.
According to him, the suspects confessed to having kidnapped the victim and raped her repeatedly before she was killed.
Agboola, in a statement by the command’s spokesman, Tolulope Afolabi, said the suspects contacted a friend of the deceased, demanding a ransom of N1 million
“Because they were unable to raise the sum, they were forced to file a complaint with the command,” the statement read.
“The State Command swung into immediate action and, against all odds, were able to apprehend the suspects. Upon inquiry into the case, the suspects admitted that they had kidnapped the victim under the false guise of engaging her services as a commercial sex worker.
“The suspects took turns raping her repeatedly, killed her afterwards, and dumped her remains in a nearby farmland. They also made away with the deceased cell phone and continued to demand ransom from the victim’s friends and family.
“The investigation is still ongoing, as said by the commandant, and further facts will be disclosed as they are unravelled.”
The commandant urged the people to be calm and go out about their lawful duties while trusting in the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and all other security outfits in the state in this fight to ensure security of lives and property.
