Fact check: Alleged confrontation of a pastor in church by a pregnant side chick (Video)

A trending video appeared on many popular blogs on Sunday, February 18, 2024, purporting to show a pastor being confronted in church by his pregnant side chick.

Microsecondnews’ investigation revealed the drama was acted in the Rainbow House Parish of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Gbagada, Lagos.

It was part of the presentation of the YAYA fellowship (Youth and Young Adults) for YAYA Sunday held every third Sunday of the month in RCCG worldwide.

A YAYA leader, Dasola Okikiola, who played the role of a pastor, put up a carefully edited portion of the skit on his social media handles, tagging popular blogs to pique their interest and drive traffic to his pages.

Dasola is not the pastor of the Rainbow House parish of RCCG. He is, in fact, a Gospel Minister and a YAYA leader at the Rainbow House parish. He is also a content creator, according to his profile on IG.

He is promoting the video on both his Instagram and TikTok pages. On TikTok, he wrote the misleading caption: “So, this happened in church today. They thought it was a drama” He added emoticons showing shock.

The caption was intended to make people believe it was real so it could go viral. He succeeded, even though a few people noticed and commented that it was the same accused ‘pastor’ who was promoting the so-called scandal on social media.

The majority of viewers missed the clue and have been pushing it all over social media.
