Agba cleaner! Movie producer compares his life in Nigeria with his life as a cleaner in the UK
Nollywood movie producer, Michael Oluwaseyi, who relocated to the United Kingdom has compared his lifestyle back home with his life as a cleaner in the United Kingdom.
A video he shared online shows a world of difference between how he used to live in Nigeria and how he is currently in the UK.
Taking to his TikTok page, Oluwaseyi shared a video of his huge home with posh cars parked in the expansive compound.
Towards the end of the same video, he showed himself decked out in a cleaner’s outfit, complete with a mop and other cleaning materials.
He wrote: “They said UK would humble me. I no believe until I enter.
No place like home”
From other posts on his page, Oluwaseyi appears to be pursuing higher education at the University of Hull, UK, and apparently does menial jobs to keep up with the bills.
In the comment section, he said he had witnessed many humbling situations but was happy to be a cleaner in the UK rather than being kidnapped in his home country (in an apparent reference to the wave of kidnapping blowing across Nigeria).
Many of his compatriots in the UK share similar experiences in the comment section, with many joking about how some recruiters ask for CVs from prospective cleaners.
One said he walked away from an employer who asked him for a CV for a bricklaying job.
One said what he found most annoying was that some recruiters had the nerve to tell him he did not qualify for a cleaning job.
Other commenters encouraged the poster, noting that it was just a process, adding that his situation would improve once he finished his studies.
