Missing UniAbuja student, Halima, found after falling victim of ‘one-chance’ gang (Video)
The University of Abuja student, Halima Sagir Mahmud, has been found.
She was found shoeless and without a head covering by a Good Samaritan after she was thrown out of a car by her abductors.
It would be recalled that her family cried out yesterday after she failed to return home from school. Read the story here.
Calls placed to her numbers were picked up by one of the hoodlums who ran a one-chance operation that picked her up.
The hoodlum told the parents who called the number, “The owner of this phone is dead. The owner of this phone is dead” and switched to speaking Hausa without answering Halima parents’ question about where she was.
Halima’s sister, Faizal Mahmud, took to Twitter to announce that her sister had been found.
She narrated that Halima fell into wrong hands after boarding a cab she believed was genuine not knowing that they were criminals.
Faizal said her sister was taken to an unknown location where she was stripped and given concoctions to drink.
She disclosed that they did so many other things to her that she would not like to disclose in public.
According to her some rituals were performed on her before the head of the gang said she should be thrown out.
She was taken to a desolate location in Abuja where she was pushed out of the vehicle.
The Good Samaritan who found her said he was walking home when she approached him in tears asking to use his phone to contact her family.
He said he initially declined because of her appearance and security considerations but later changed his mind when he saw how she was crying.
According to him, the location was dangerous for even a man to be, much less a woman, so he told her to give him the number she wanted to call and thereafter called the number which is Halima’s sister.
Her father went to the location to bring her home.
