Caucasian man joins Nigerian debate sparked by woman who started waking up at 4:50am to cook and pack lunch for her husband
A Caucasian man from the United States of America has joined the debate going on among Nigerians on social media.
The conversation began after an X user, Debbie OA also known as MumZee, revealed that though she is pregnant, she started waking up by 4:50 am to cook and pack her husband’s lunch after he told her that his female colleague brought food from home and an extra spoon so he could eat with her.
The tweet sparked a heated debate which has not abated.
Jason Marshall, an American from Texas, took to X to talk about it.
He wrote: “Viral story in Nigeria. A man’s female coworker cooks & brings extra homemade lunch & 2 spoons so they can share every day.
“Man’s wife started cooking & packing his lunch to stop that.
“Told my wife about this and she … reacted.”
He added: “If anyone ever feeds me homemade food, I’m gonna keep that to myself.”
A follower then asked, “Lool…I’d like to know your wife’s reaction.”
And Jason replied: “My wife said the husband should have said no thank you, left the office for lunch and bought a sandwich. She made it clear I’m not allowed to eat another woman’s cooking without permission. She was so serious I replied with “Yes ma’am”.”
He went on to reveal that he cooks for his wife and does the laundry happily.

@__JasonMarshall: “My wife was better looking than me when we got married in 1999. She’s getting better looking with age while I’m looking tired and worn out.
These days I cook for her. On weekends I grill enough chicken, meat, and vegetables for most of the week. I do laundry too, happily.
@__JasonMarshall: “Dated this girl in college who was the best cook. Nice girl but we had nothing in common, couldn’t have a conversation. Wanted to break up with her after 2 weeks but she kept bringing homemade Mexican food for me & my roommates. My boys wouldn’t let me end it. We dated 3 months.”
