NANS issues 7-day ultimatum to police to probe death of OOU student who went to Ago Iwoye Park to preach
The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Southwest Zone D has called for an urgent probe of the circumstances leading to the death of a student of Olabisi Onabanjo University in Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, Onadipe Oluwatosin, while he was on an evangelism mission.
Recall that the dead body of the student was found on the expressway some good distance from where he told his colleagues he was going to preach.
He had told his mates he was going to the Ago Iwoye Park, (Chips) to preach but he never returned.
He was declared missing and for close to a week could not be traced until his body was found on the expressway. The family was given the impression that he was involved in a road accident.
However, an eyewitness anonymously informed the family that the student was at the Ago Iwoye Park to preach and was doing so until he was challenged by someone said to be a former chairman of the park.
He allegedly accused Onadipe Oluwatosin of causing a disturbance. The deceased reportedly carried on his evangelism until the same complainant hit him with a vulcanizer’s iron rod on the head, leaving him bleeding.

NANS said this death was unacceptable and called on the authorities to probe it.

Allegedly killed during a gospel preaching mission at Ago-Iwoye park (chips) on Sunday, 17th December/2023, the situation has raised concerns about the safety of students and the apparent lack of a public report by the police.
