The General Overseer of Deeper Christian Life Ministry, William Kumuyi has emphasized that same-s3x marriage is not biblical
The statement comes a few days after Pope Francis approved for priests to bless same-s3x couples in church.
However, he said the union would not be recognised as marriage.
“Such blessings should not be conducted with any church rites that offer the impression of a marriage” the pope said.
In an address at the opening ceremony of a joint event of the Global Crusade with Kumuyi and the 2023 National December Retreat, Kumuyi said he would only adhere to the teachings of Christ on marriage.
He asserted in his address that the command of Christ Jesus was for a man to get married to a woman.
“He even says heaven and earth shall pass away but his words will not pass away. We stand in obedience to Christ and submissive to him and we carry on the works of Christ that said a man and a woman should be joined together in marriage until d£ath do us part.”
