Man cancels his wedding on D-Day after finding out bride slept with her ex-boyfriend few days to ceremony in Jos
A Nigerian man has reportedly cancelled his wedding on the D-day in Plateau State.
A report indicated that the wedding was slated for Saturday, December 16, 2023 in Ganawuri, Riyom Local Government Area of the state.
This was disclosed on Facebook by Linda Gagara, the make-up artist contracted to glamourize the bride.
According to her, the ex-boyfriend squealed that she slept with her on the day of her sent-forth prayer (a Plateau cultural event held for brides a few days before their wedding).
Linda Gagara said she was about to start making up the bride when the groom’s family showed up to tell her that the wedding had been called off.
Linda said the bride called the groom on the phone to hear directly from him and he told her that he was no longer interested in going ahead with the wedding.
Gagara wrote: “I really saw something today as the makeup artist of the bride-to-be. Since yesterday nite that I was with her (bride) n family, to this morning when it was called off,” she wrote on Saturday.
“Wedding that was supposed to happen at dime minute when I was about to start up makeup, ended up just like that. So You mean even on d-day of your wedding, your guy or whosoever can just wake up and decide “Ya kare!!! Oh Lord.
“No matter what manna. I cried…like a baby on #transit when returning home this morning, from #Kagoro/Ganawuri to Jos. I cried silently for no one to notice in the car.
“Was just imagining the pain…how this Gal feels. Hmmmm…On Her supposed day of happiness. At dime minute. Just Time that I was to start up Her makeup to go to church. Oh Lord… I’ve never seen a thing like this before. Allah ya isa!!! Ladies go through lot. I’m sad. Really sad. Wallahi, Bai Yi ba.”
While a massive majority sympathised with the disappointed bride, a few expressed their support for the action of the groom-to-be.
This infuriated Gagara who, in a follow-up post, threatened to block anyone who expressed support for the action of the man.
Many netizens condemned Gagara for her stance, pointing out that she would do a similar thing on the eve of her own wedding.
One person wrote: “This shows the mindset of most ladies. This lady telling this story is not any different. How do you blame a guy for calling off the wedding, so if na you your guy cheat days before ur wedding, you go continue? Then tomorrow u go say he is cheating on me when u knew b4 marriage. Women will always support the nonsense of other women. Maybe the makeup money wey u loose follow join ur anger, idiot.”
Another one wrote: “I wonder why she would end the story by saying “Ladies go through a lot” as if the man should have continued with the wedding after finding out his fiance cheated. Most women, except a few, have a very childish and selfish mindset and they are not to be taken seriously.”
