Netizens caution US-based Nigerian lady who disclosed the unusual way her father got to America on X
Netizens have taken to X to caution a young lady who disclosed the unusual way her father got to America many years ago.
Commenting on the issue of whether it is proper for Nigerians in Diaspora to send money to their relatives back home, the young lady, Oluwatise, said she was forever indebted to her uncle who used to work at the airport in Nigeria back in 1998.
According to her, the uncle smuggled her father into a plane coming to America and he quickly decided to have a baby there to retain the right to stay in the country.
She said she would always send any amount of money her uncle asked her because if not for him, she would have been born in Ojota with limited possibilities.
See her tweet: “lol my parents had me as soon as they came to America so they can stay. my uncle worked at the airport in 1998 and smuggled my dad on a flight to yankee. I owe that man my life 😂 I could’ve been born in Ojota with limited possibilities in life. Abeg o, if my uncle need 100k he go collect am sharp sharp.”
When some netizens saw the tweet, they pointed out that it was too much information to put out on social media.
They argued that she was openly disclosing an offence her uncle committed in 1998, and that US immigration officials might see the tweet and seek out her family.
She responded to some of the tweets by stating that they were all citizens of America now, and have nothing to worry about.

I can also give you the names of ten more people that you can arrest too. idg you ppl. the US government has acknowledged he came in illegally and gave him asylum 25 years ago. But online immigration officers want to arrest him. My daddy is in Akure enjoying his life, you ppl should go and meet him there.”
