A married man, Thomas Nyamhunga, is on the run in Zimbabwe after he allegedly st@bbed the two children of his side chick, Needmore Mauka, for ending their relationship.
One of the two sons who was a 5-year-old died while the 8-year-old is fighting for his life in a hospital.
Trouble started when Mauka told her lover, married man Nyamhunga, who is a meat vendor, that she was fed up with the harassment from his wife and would like them to stop seeing each other.
Nyamhunga reportedly resisted this and suggested that Mauka should relocate to a new building so that they could continue their affairs.
Nyamhunga flew into a rage when Mauka insisted the relationship should be stopped immediately.
He reportedly went to the his lover’s home in the evening, taking advantage of the mother’s absence pretending that he was there to have a nice time with them.
He reportedly told them to prepare a meal, which they ate together. They later retired to bed and he reportedly shared a bed with Emmanuel Tinenyasha Mauka (5). He waited for the boy to sleep before fatally stabbing him.
He then went after Andile Tawananyasha Mauka (8), and severely wounded him. He is currently fighting for his life at Sally Mugabe Central Hospital.
The boys’ older sister was roused by the commotion and was able to realize what was happening. She escaped to alert neighbours.
Nyamhunga fled the scene before the neighbours arrived.
Needmore Mauka is full of regrets for getting involved with Nyamhunga.
She said: “I was receiving threatening messages from his wife, Mai Alice, over our affair. I decided to separate from Thomas, but he has been refusing. He even suggested I move to alternative accommodation to avoid his wife, but I refused.”
Needmore Mauka said she was away in Ngezi supporting her favourite team, Dynamos, at the Chibuku Super Cup final, when Nyamhunga went to her house to attack her children.
Needmore told H-Metro that Nyamhunga called her to inquire about her whereabouts earlier that day and she told him she was in Ngezi.
Needmore Mauka said Nyamhunga accused her of going to the football game with another man.
“He accused me of being with a boyfriend, yet I was with my female friends. The conversation did not go well, and he hung up.
She abandoned the game and headed home after Nyamhunga informed her that he was heading to her house.
“I rushed home after he informed me about his intention to go to my rented house. I arrived around 9 pm and found people gathered at my house and I suspected something bad had happened.
“I regret answering Thomas’ phone call and ever dating him. I want to believe that the words we exchanged over the phone could have angered him to the extent of killing my child and injuring the other, Andirwadzisa Thomas. I didn’t know that he was so evil.”
