South African who trended for ‘ending’ her marriage in six months is back with her husband (Video)

A South African woman called her friend to come and get her from her matrimonial home after just six months of marriage to her husband is back with him.

The lady, Makun Gothulani, on November 24, 2023, posted a reel of herself removing her stuff from her matrimonial home.

Gothulani, said she was completely exhausted and fed up with the marriage.

In the clip, she was seen removing her wedding band and also packing her stuff into a car brought by her friend.

Her husband was apparently not at home at the time.

The video racked up 2.9 million views as netizens offered their opinions on the situation.

Her friends took to the comments section to comfort her, telling her it was better for her to leave a marriage alive than to return home in a casket.

One wrote: “Failed marriage is better😭than coming on a casket. Please be strong”

Another one shared her own experience, “Got married when I was 21 …. divorced at the age of 30…. feeling extremely excited 😢😢 Divorce and Graduation combination✌️✌️✌️”

A few hours ago, the same woman took to the same Tiktok platform to announce their reunion.

She posted a lovey dovey picture of herself and her man with the caption:

“I told you guys that I no longer want anything to do with him, buh then guys I still love him. Don’t judge me for going back.”

Netizens congratulated her on their reunion, but chastised her for putting all her marital issues online.

Some also commented on the negative impact her initial action must have had on other couples in crises.
