With pictorial evidence, a lady has cautioned fellow women against bleaching their skins.
The lady, who identified herself as Charles Perfect on Tiktok, recalled that she used to be very dark-skinned, but started resenting her skin because of comments from bullies in her school.
She said at age 16, she started bleaching and in no time became very light-skinned to the embarrassment of her mother who described her as the only light-complexioned person in the family.
She said she continued to bleach and loved the result as people praised her beauty.
However, to her disappointment, at some point, she noticed two green patches on either side of her face. With time, they became bigger and disfigured her face.
She said she tried everything, but the patches became more pronounced and she continued to spend money on fixing it.
At some point, she said she spent N300,000 buying expensive creams to treat the condition without anything to show for it.
Charles said she lapsed into serious depression and would not even want to step out of her house because of the way she looked.
She then decided to stop bleaching or using any cream.
Her dark skin’s original complexion started returning gradually. She recalled that she first became charcoal-dark before the beauty in her dark skin started returning.
In two years, she has regained her dark beauty status but has not completely removed the green patches.
She warned other ladies to stay away from bleaching.
