US rapper Nardo Wick blasts his crew after they punched picture-seeking fan unconscious
A United States of America rapper, Nardo Wick, has expressed anger at his after an appalling video showed members of his entourage knocking a fan unconscious – leaving him in critical condition with a brain bleed.
George Obregon Jr, 20, was brutally assaulted by the 21-year-old rapper’s companions, according to his family. He had been asking Wick for a photo.
Police said the fan approached Wick, real name Horace Bernard Walls III, around 1.15am after his show on Sunday at the Club Skye in Tampa, Florida.
Since the ordeal, Wick took to social media to condemn the awful actions – but said that he can’t ‘control another grown man’s actions.’
The rapper wrote: ‘I don’t condone what happened to my fan George after my show in any type of way, I expressed to him and his mama how sorry and concerned I was that it happened to him, multiple times before anything was even posted or on the internet.
‘I sent his mama my number instantly the night it happened. I was even gone make a post to try to find out who he was before his mama text me.
‘I can’t control another grown man actions, I ain’t know that was gone happen, and I was mad when it happened.
‘I tried to stop it as you can see in the video, and if somebody got the longer video you can see how mad I was, I love and appreciate all my fans and don’t condone in what happened at all dat s**t ain’t gangsta or cool in no type of way.’
Footage of the attack shows Obregon walk towards the rapper and his crew before he is sucker punched by one of the men, causing him to hit a brick wall.
As Obregon appears too shocked or hurt to move, another member of Wick’s entourage punches him again several times – as Wick tells the man to ‘chill’.
Obregon then falls to the ground and hits his head on the pavement as Wick is seen pulling the attacker off of him.
A representative for Wick told DailyMail.com on Tuesday: ‘The narrative about body guard or security is totally untrue.’
Wick’s manager, who goes by Qown Wick, added: ‘They’re not directly affiliated with Nardo.’
Despite Wick’s public comment and condemnation, his fans have berated him for not doing enough while his young fan was being assaulted in front of his eyes.
One person wrote: ‘But you stood there and did nothing.’
Another said: ‘Disgusting crew,’ as a third warned: ‘That lawsuit ain’t going to be pretty.’
And another person on social media added: ‘You cant control their actions, but you can control having emotionally mature people around you that have self-control.’
Others questioned how much Wick actually did for the young man: ‘Did you take him to the Hospital?
‘Did you stay there until Medical came to give him aid, and as well did you contacted the authorities about this and provide information on who did this to him?
The young man’s furious family have taken to social media to demand justice for Obregon. He is seen in the hospital.
‘I don’t think you did unless you can prove everyone wrong.’
Another simply said: ‘Shame on you and your bodyguards.’
‘At no point was my son aggressive at no f***in’ point did she show any sign of harm!!! My son wanted a stupid f***in’ picture with his favorite artist!!!!And This is what he gets!!!!!!! I am sick to my stomach to think about how this could have turned out!!!!’ Obregon’s mother Michelle wrote on Facebook.
She added: ‘As a mother I am begging you to help get justice for George Obregon Jr. Anyone who knows my son knows he is the sweetest and gentlest kid ever. No drugs, alcohol, gang, nothing! I am dying here and my f***in’ heart is hurting so bad I am sick to my stomach. I can’t stay quiet.’
Tampa police told TMZ that Obregon is in a stable but critical condition. It is not clear if he will be left with any long-term damage due to his injuries.
Authorities are working to identify the attackers and have asked the public for help.
Wick’s Instagram has been flooded with angry comments calling attention to the shocking assault.
One comment read: ‘The fact y’all got low grade security who can’t even control those temper and put that kid in ICU.. the lawsuit about to be crazy.. hope you speak up about it..’
Another added: ‘u seriously need new bodyguards cause what they did to that fan of yours wasn’t cute.’
A third commentator wrote: ‘You and all these rappers promoting violence, guns, drugs, then your people over here putting fans in the hospital … disgusting man.’
Some of the rapper’s fans, however, stood by Wick, noting that he pulled one of the men off Obregon and appeared to be telling his entourage to ‘chill.’
‘Nardo told them to “chill” and pushed them off of him. Sooooo let’s not act like Nardo just sat there,’ wrote one commentator on Instagram.’
Another said: ‘Nardo was tryna stop it he didn’t even know what was going on , the kid ran up and his people automatically reacted cause you never know.’
