Truck rams into passenger bus, killing one at Magboro bus stop, Ogun State
Many hospitalised
A truck collided with a fully loaded passenger bus at the Magboro end of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Tuesday, killing at least one person.
At least three other victims were reportedly rushed away from the scene unconscious, but their fate is uncertain.
The crash happened on the Ibadan-bound part of the busy expressway by the Magboro bus stop on Tuesday evening, November 28.
The impact of the collision threw the two vehicles off the expressway into the road linking the expressway with Magboro through the Magboro Market.
Some people at the ever-busy Magboro Market were also affected by the accident, while many of the makeshift shops were ruined.
Emergency responders and residents of the area rescued the victims and rushed them to the hospital.
A couple of the victims were unconscious, but only one was confirmed dead at the scene.
The bus picked up some school children returning to their homes in Magboro after attending schools in Arepo. Two were students of a secondary school in Arepo.
One of the students reportedly jumped out of the bus and escaped unhurt, while the other sustained injuries to his head and back.
