Woman in viral ‘Mummy Calm Down’ video reportedly took her own life
The mother of the boy in the viral ‘Mummy Calm Down’ video has reportedly taken her own life.
The news was broken on X by a user with the handle @sammydo214. He claims to live close to the family in Benin City.
The news is yet to be independently confirmed by Microsecondnews.
Recall that the video of the boy, Oreofeoluwa Lawal-Babalola, begging her mother to calm down and not punish him was uploaded by the mother and it went viral, capturing the imagination of the entire country and drawing the attention of the Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu who invited the family over to his office to meet the boy.
The fame landed the family a couple of endorsements and a Nollywood role for Oreofe.
Many months after, a piece of very disturbing news is coming from the family.
Samuel wrote: “The woman in the viral ‘Mummy Calm Down’ video has just committed suicide here in Benin. She refused to speak to anyone about her problems. She left behind three kids for her husband, including the popular ‘Mummy Calm Down’ boy.”
