Bride in pains as her groom-to-be is now to be buried on their wedding date in Akwa Ibom
A bride-to-be has taken to social media to mourn the sudden demise of her husband-to-be after a brief episode of Malaria and is now to be buried on the date chosen for their wedding.
Some of the pictures taken during the couple’s pre-wedding photoshoot which were to be put in their wedding programmes have now been used for his obituary posters.
The bride who is on Facebook as Lizzydamsel Etim took to the platform to express her grief at losing her dearly loved second half a few days to their biggest day.
According to Lizzy, her groom-to-be complained of a headache and they proceeded to the hospital where they were told he was suffering from malarial fever.
But from the bride’s chat with a relative, it appeared the hospital did not commence treatment immediately and he eventually died.
In a chat with her elder sister with whom she had been planning on making some purchase for the forthcoming wedding, the devastated bride told her there was no need for her to buy anything any longer as she had just lost her husband-to-be.
The sister responded with: “Jesus!”
The bride also informed her friend that she was in isolation, apparently as part of the tradition for widows in her community in Akwa Ibom where they are from. She cannot be visited and cannot call or receive calls. So she has only been exchanging text and WhatsApp messages.
A bride’s friend, who also shared the news on her Facebook page, posted some screenshots of her chat with the lady who informed her of the tragedy.
The wedding date, initially slated for the 11th of November, has now become the new burial date for the husband.
The burial will now take place at St. Hillary Catholic Church, Ekit Itam 2.
